Libertad Gets Rolling

March 26, 2008 by pablo

Hello everyone! I wanted to let you all know of the great things happening with Project Libertad! It’s been a whirlwind month as we get closer to the first Libertad event, which is slated for April 5th in Tucson, Arizona.
First, we have had a great response for the Arizona event. It promises to a be a really great gathering of folks with are both interested in independent film as well as helping educate youth. Also, many local area business are coming through in the clutch. We’ll be publishing a list of those who contributed to the event as soon as we return from the desert.

Next, we would like to thank all the people who showed up at Laura’s brunch. While we didn’t get a chance to collectively talk about the project, I could feel the energy from the group and really am excited to have such great people on our team. Rest assured, we’ll be contacting you individually to see how each of you might be able to contribute to the project as the LA event is right around the corner.

Speaking of the LA event, it is slated for May 10th at The Grind Gallery in Mar Vista, CA. The night will consist of free drinks, a small talk about our project from yours truly, and hopefully convince everyone of the merit of this project enough to get some tax deductible donations to come our way!

Finally, we have been getting some great feedback from local and national media outlets. We’ll be re-publishing all the stories coming out about Libertad here, but rest assured that this film will find its way to newspapers and other venues around the nation this summer. To help expediate it, should you have anyone involved in the press, please let me know and I’ll be sure to forward them our materials and press releases.

Okay, it’s time to get back to work on other fun and exciting things - like taxes!

Thanks for your support, and I look forward to writing at you again soon,

Pablo
